Right off the bat I was looking forward to reviewing this game, it was everything I loved, first person shooter, Germans, Zombies & Dragons. What was there not to like? Unfortunately this is where the games promise ended.

When I saw the new trailer for Bad Company 2, I really did fall in love with it. DICE seemed to have really found a point with fast and fluid gameplay in the multiplayer aspect of the game with a good mix of vehicles and unique style of maps, that provide a challenge and makes you want to do one more round.

After the past two Guitar Hero releases, Activision has been both criticised and praised. They now have arrived with a third release of 2009, Van Halen. I was fairly sceptical about this title as I am not the biggest of Van Halen fans and some previous games haven’t exactly lived up to standards but fortunately I was fairly surprised.

First impressions can be a dangerous thing; my first hour or so of playing Star Wolves 3 was a rather frustrating and monotonous experience. The interface was clunky, the missions were dull and there were numerous localisation issues - I was ready to score the game very lowly, however I persevered and found that the game exceeded my initial impressions.

Bioshock, one of the few game titles that can have me grinning like a Cheshire cat as I think back to the first time I set my eyes upon Rapture, rescued a little sister and yelped in fear at the noise of the Big Daddy's drill. Since the teaser ending of Bioshock 1 fans have been waiting eagerly for the release of the sequel to this epic underwater title and finally after many trailers, screenshots and highly amusing You Tube clips of the ‘Uber Limited Edition' they have finally released, Bioshock 2 and boy have we been rewarded for our patience.

Mass Effect was a big hit on the Xbox 360 when it was first released, hailed as being a truly magnificent sci-fi tale where your character, Commander Shepard, was trying to rid the galaxy of the evil Saren, who was in turn working for a race of ancient machines intent on destroying all life in the galaxy – the Reapers. The game suffered from bad texture pop-in, but the PC port - along with its redesigned control scheme fit for mouse and keyboard - came along and solved most issues. Here we have the sequel, but does it stand out as much as its predecessor?

Army of Two: The 40th Day sees the return of lovable mercenaries Tyson Rios and Elliot Salem, set to wreak havoc upon the streets of Shanghai when a "simple" contract turns into total chaos. The whole city starts to collapse around you, entire buildings start exploding around you, the civilian populace fleeing for their lives, and even at one point you even see a plane fly into the very tower block you're trying to ex-filtrate from. This scenario quickly turns into one of simple survival as you try to escape the armageddon.

Band Hero, for all intents and purposes, is Activision's attempt to promote their Hero franchise to the more casual market, removing the heavier rock set pieces and replacing them with squeaky clean pop songs that can be completely hit or miss given the games 'rockier' roots.

Tony Hawk Ride, is it worth it? In short, no, but allow me to explain my abrupt answer. There was a lot of mixed feelings when the Ride controller was first announced, a mixture of anticipation for a new dimension in skateboarding games, and trepidation for a control system that could damage reputations of Activision, the Tony Hawk series and also the man himself who endorses the game.

Well this is it, five reviews spanning over a couple of months and we are finally at the end of Tales of Monkey Island. It's been emotional to say the least with plot twists, laugh out loud moments and some old faces making an appearance just for old time's sake. The series has been good and been a bloody good way of getting new gamers in to this old genre.
